Wilmington’s Concord Pike is quickly becoming one of the top places to open a new restaurant.
Teriyaki Madness, a fast casual restaurant, is the next to join the list, opening in Wilmington at 3311 Concord Pike in late October or early November. Franchise owners Jignesh and Roshni Patel are excited to bring the concept to the First State where they’ve been residents for almost two decades, residing in Middletown.
“I’d love to have it open by Thanksgiving,” Jignesh said.
While Roshni’s family has franchise restaurant experience (relatives even own a Teriyaki Madness in another state), this is a first for the couple who are both accountants. “I feel really good about the chain,” Jignesh said.
Jignesh said he and his wife were looking for a new business opportunity and after considering all their options, Teriyaki Madness seemed like the best fit because of its menu and company culture. The couple appreciates how easy it is to work with Teriyaki Madness and Jignesh said he has the CEO’s cell phone number if he needs to call with any questions.
Teriyaki Madness was founded in 2003 and is a fast-casual teriyaki shop concept. The eatery works to satisfy guests by offering made-to-order teriyaki dishes prepared with fresh, all-natural ingredients served quickly and at a reasonable price. “They have a very simple menu,” Jignesh said.
Menu items include beef teriyaki, chicken katsu and yakisoba noodles. Appetizers include edamame and chicken potstickers. The restaurant also offers a variety of different sauces to pair with food items. Jignesh said he liked how the restaurant’s menu focused on fast casual and healthy options, two things he’s seen become popular with millennial and younger customers. The menu allows guests to choose their protein paired with their choice of rice or noodles and desired vegetables to create their own bowl. The brand is dedicated to “Spreading the Madness” so everyone can experience their teriyaki.
Teriyaki Madness currently has franchise agreements in place for nearly 150 shops across the U.S. and offers franchising opportunities to qualified single and multi-unit candidates nationwide. Currently the closest Teriyaki Madness location is in Fairfax, Virginia. Locations in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and College Station, Pennsylvania are also coming soon, according to the company’s website.
Jignesh said for his new restaurant, they are currently in the construction phase. Even though the Patels are still a few months away from opening, they’re receiving some anticipation through social media, press and coworkers.
“They’re all excited about trying things,” Jignesh said about his and his wife’s coworkers.
